DECLARATION
  1. Context:
    Records Management


    Definition:
    The act of assigning the status of 'record' to a captured document. A captured document is not considered to be part of the Records Management system until it has been declared as a record. Declaration can be manual or initiated by an automated business process. Declaration is not found in ISO15489 and is not considered an accepted practice as it does not fit with the definition of a record.
